It is situated on the San Gorgonio Pass at its peak, along with its eastern neighbor, Banning, CA, its northern neighbor Cherry Valley, CA, and its western neighbor, Calimesa, CA.
Beaumont is about 80 miles east of downtown Los Angeles, CA and 30 miles west of Palm Springs, CA, each connected by freeway and railroad.
Beaumont is located at 33°55′27″N 116°58′25″W / 33.92417°N 116.97361°W / 33.92417; -116.97361 (33.924093, -116.973734).
Its neighboring city to the east is Banning and to the west is Calimesa.
With an elevation of 2,500-3,000 feet above sea level, Beaumont is at the peak on the San Gorgonio Pass between San Bernardino, CA and Palm Springs, CA neighboring the California Interstate 10 and California State Route 60 freeways. If driving east to Banning or west to Calimesa, drivers can feel a gradual downward slope.
